Viz Media is announcing on Wednesday that it will launch Neon Alley, a 24-hour anime service on a major game console to be revealed later. The service will debut this fall and will be available in the United States and Canada.
The service will show anime uncut, dubbed in English, and in HD when available. It will host the English dub premieres of Tiger & Bunny, Inuyasha: The Final Act, Zetman, Lagrange - The Flower of Rin-ne, and new episodes of Naruto Shippūden. It will also show films such as the Berserk: The Golden Age Arc film trilogy. The service will also run original content with news and behind-the-scenes information on anime and manga.
Neon Alley is a subscription-based service that will cost US$6.99 per month. According to Viz's press release, it will have "limited commercial advertising."
An interview with Brian Ige, Viz Media Vice President of Animation, about the new service is also provided in the ANN link.

Glad there finally taking more of an initiative with their anime division, but system? Shouldn't it be system(s) if its only on 1 system thats a bit...disheartning, since I would guess it would be on Xbox360 over PS3, which is sad as I don't have a 360 (not a Microsoft fan) But if it is PSN over XBLA i'll defiantly join, or if it is both be it off the bat or over time, thats good as well.
But yeah, heres hoping it does well for VIZ so they'll dub more anime and give non Bleach/Death Note/Naruto releases better treatment.
All Will Know The Wonder Of My Dark & Jewled Sky, When All The World Is Wrapped In An Eternal Lullabye.
Maybe it's going to launch on the Wii U (or at the earliest the 360 & PS3) because it mentions that it will be on a major game console to be revealed later and that it will launch in the fall. However, because the Wii U's going to launch in the holiday season, the service would launch first on the 360 & PS3.
Locomotion
animation, young adults, digital era
So they are saving InuYaha and Tiger and Bunny for this? Makes me sad
Nura Rise of the Yokai Clan is on that LIST too.
I'll just stick to the video portal on their website and wait for the eventual DVD releases.
Really wished they had not of only made their new anime channel for video game systems! I would with out doubt subscribe to it if it was on comcast! Now their are two anime channels which are both out of my reach!
AHHH! It almost makes me want to buy a video game system but sadly can't afford it right now. This good news for anime-gamers. But for the anime non-gamers it really sucks! The only good news I take out of these is that viz is expanding their anime company which is a very good thing!
Especially with the given state of the anime industry in the U.S. right now.
AWWW! I've never seen lelouch look so adorably moe! Or suzaku for that matter! XD
It would be cool if Viz Media put there Neon Alley 24 hour anime service on the new Wii U coming out around Christmas time. I read on animenewsnetwork.com that Viz Media's Neon Alley is going to be on the PS3 gaming system.
I can't find any info on it maybe i'm over looking i don't know but has viz said why the Neon Alley service isn't on xbox live ??
Well they got One Piece that was a shocker, but I still will buy the DVDs
