Tiger and Bunny Series Discussion (Possible Spoilers)

I am surprised that there isn't a thread for this wonderful Superhero series by Sunrise.

Tiger and Bunny has reached its 15th episode already and I am loving the series more and more.

I have a feeling that since the DVDs (or more accurately, the BDs) have been selling like hotcakes in Japan that a second season could be thought up after the first one has ended.

Anyway, what do you think of the series? Do you like it? hate it?

This thread is like 3 and 1/2 months late but...

I love this show. I think the corporatized superheroes premise is really interesting and the characters are all pretty fun.

Also Dragon Kid owns.

Well, yes, it is, but I didn't know that there wasn't a thread on here until today. Anyway, I think my favorite Hero is Tiger as well as Origami Cyclone.

The series has been very good, I haven't watched episode 15 yet ( going to in a few minutes) but I have loved watching the series thus far. However I am curious as what the next big threat will be as it seems they're going back to more character development episodes again. Nothing wrong this that over course. tongue

Spoiler: Highlight to view
It seems that Lunatic is the "big bad" of the second arc, as he's still active. There may be smaller villains along the way, but I think Lunatic will be the big guy to fight against the other heroes.

I wouldn't be terribly surprised if Ouroboros still has a part to play in the story. Kriem is still alive, and it seemed like too powerful an organization to have only 3-4 members.

That is true. Though, I wonder if Lunatic will have some sort of connection with the crime syndicate, even though he hates criminals (he is a judge for his day job, so it stands to reason that he'd hate criminals). Then again, if Sunrise decides to create a second season, Ouroboros could feature as big bads in the second season.

So episode 16 now out impression?

I personally thought it was a really good episode, can't saying I had any thought of Lunatic being Legends son, and the whole story with Tiger losing his powers is getting deeper, I didn't see it clearly but I think his journal said something about his powers only having lasted 3 minutes and 5 seconds.

Not quite, it said that his powers were cut by 3 seconds, his current time limit is 3 minutes and 45 seconds, which can be seen at 09:39 of the episode. He is losing minute amounts of time each time he uses his power. I do believe that if he doesn't want to end up like Mr. Legend, he'll stop being a hero, since he would want to be praised as a hero instead of known as a fake (which is pretty much like what Mr. Legend was like before his death). I know that he did say that he can keep going, but I think he'll change his mind since it would be better for him to at least consider the fact that he may end up like Mr. Legend.

On the other plot point (Lunatic):

Yuri Petrov (or Lunatic) being Mr. Legend's son is an interesting concept, and I think I see Lunatic in a new light. He may not be a hero, but his sense of justice and the way he carries himself could be construed as heroic. He has been going after only criminals, and he may have gone toe-to-toe with heroes, but that's because he's trying to show them up in a way. I don't think he's an enemy (or villain) per se, he's an anti-hero in many ways.

That I completely agree with you on both points (thanks for correcting my times as well) I personally think that as far as the series goes we're going to see Tiger retire and then come back due to some huge emergency. As far as Lunatic I think you're hitting the nail on the head in him being more of an anti-hero than a villain as he is not really committing crimes (outside of murder) as much as try to prevent/ give "true" justice.

Wow, episode 17 was absolutely awesome.

Kotetsu goes home to his hometown and we see how his family is, he has an older brother (who isn't a Next), his mother and his daughter Kaede. The episode was so beautifully full of family love and some fighting amongst its members (Kaede and Kotetsu). The best part of the episode was when Kotetsu comes to Kaede's rescue when she was trapped in the shrine during the storm.

Something about Kaede:

Kaede's a Next. Apparently her ability is to run and leap certain distances. She first exhibited this ability at the end of Episode 17, when Kotetsu was returning to Stern Bild to resign as a hero. This is an interesting development.
