Sadly, I am aware that FUNimation is highly unlikely to license any of those titles (and probably no one else, either).
Not entirely unlikely - Japan clearly sees an English market for it since they are selling subtitled episodes worldwide on Apple devices, and Siren Visual are releasing it (subtitled) in Australia. While I don't really see FUNimation springing for it, someone like Sentai may eventually release it sub-only. It would be ideal for a dubbed broadcast on children's TV, but it is just too short for the western market (plus there's the lack of merchandise).

Shugo Chara (3 seasons, total 127 episodes I think it's licensed by Crunchyroll already though... only English subs. .)
A long-running shojo series has almost no chance unfortunately.

CrunchyRoll doesn't license, only gets permission to simulcast (on occasion).
Since going legal they always get permission to stream and that is just another type of license (a streaming-only license as opposed to a home video/broadcast/merchandise license)

Bandai and Funimation have gotten mad with them a few times for illegally streaming their licensed titles.
That was again before they went legal.

CrunchyRoll has only licensed one thing, 5 Centimeters Per Second, which was done last year.
That was the only thing they license for physical distribution.

I can't believe these haven't been licensed. I can't wait for the day that I get to pre-order these series on Amazon. I pray that it's VERY soon...
CCS and Sailor Moon are truly classics. I hope that Funimation gives them the release that they deserve! Blu-ray release too? Re-dub too! The CCS HD Blu-ray released in Japan is ~perfection~. No thanks to slim cases for these series though... I want a Clow Book type box release. :'D Hard cardboard boxes, beautiful artwork, etc. A genuine, perfect release.
Re: Shows you'd like to see licensed by FUNimation
Seriously, I think it's pointless to hope that FUNimation will attain these licenses... after all it has taken them over a year it seems since they acquired Shana and Toaru... Neither series even has a teaser leading anyone to believe that they're even being worked on. Instead we're hanging on waiting.
I realize economy sucks right now, and it's only progressively getting worse. So, I can't expect that things are going to make a quick turn around any time soon. However, Bandai and Sentai makes it easy for me to search for anime... they list names of titles... I see they're not dubbed and I simply walk away... easy shopping! (Rare conditions where I actually like a series enough to buy the sub-only dvd.
From the words of most moderators in these forums, it seems that FUNimation really isn't swayed one way or another. There is a lot of "Wish Lists" but none seem likely.
But in case FUNimation really does read these,
I think more of their series would be much easier to sell if people even knew they existed. (and I'm not talking about "already fans") Places I never see FUNimation: Walmart, Target, Supermarkets...
I also keep hearing about this "FUNimation channel" as the average Joe with COX cable which channel is the FUNimation channel? I keep changing channels, but none of them list FUNimation as a potential channel... in fact the Anime Network is more successful as an ON DEMAND option... I'm just saying most of their non "Cartoon Network" based anime don't get noticed unless people like me have already seen it and/or already know of it.
This might explain the loss FUNimation has been suffering.
Anyways.... I have listed my wish lists in previous forums before... I don't see even a half-hearted attempt for some of the older titles I mention.

Lamune (2005)
Sailor Moon
Digimon
Monster Rancher

(Unmentionable) Tsukaima 2 and 3

The longer it goes the less likely something will be licensed since popularity will have waned, with the possible exception of really expensive titles that have dropped to an affordable level. Demonbane for example has been picked up as a back catalogue title by Crunchyroll, basically Kadokawa's clearing house to squeeze a bit of cash out of old titles they can't sell or were licensed previously but have expired (like Maburaho).

It is a Shueisha property so is unlikely to go outside the Viz group.
