Re: Shows you'd like to see licensed by FUNimation
Keeping it to things I think are slightly (emphasis on slightly) realistic, I'd most like Funi to license:
Strike Witches movie Saki
Qwaser of Stigmata
Mitsudomoe
Binbou Shimai Monogatari
Astarotte's Toy
Moshidora
Children who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below
Binchotan
Sky Girls
Although I reckon some of these might be more Sentai territory.

This series is also highly rated, has beautiful artwork and a thought provoking insightful story.
The Japanese BD of the OVA already has English subtitles. For me, that's as good as licensed. Although I'd still double dip if an R1 company re-released it.

@Einhorn
I'd just like to see it brought over not just for a lesser price (it's $87 plus shipping on CDJapan) but also for more exposure for the studio. (also the director & character designer...I mean talk about a small group of people getting an impressive piece of work done.)

1. Natsume Yujin-cho needs a high quality blu ray release in R1.
I find it ridiculous that a show this good has still not been licensed when so many other series that are admittedly mediocre at best are licensed. It's good enough to have made it 3 seasons now, has a good following for the manga and has a high percentage rate of streaming numbers over at CR when it's season is going on. Just look at the ratings it has on ANN's encyclopedia, an 8.49 which gives it a ranking of 184 out of 4916. Sure its not scientifically accurate polling, but it is obviously a well regarded series to be rated in the top 96th percentile. I can't even import it (trust me I was willing to pay the hundreds of dollars to get it) because the JP blu has no subtitles.
3. Nichijou (My Ordinary Life)
This series is hilarious, and has almost now supplanted Gintama in my mind as the funniest series I've seen. The animation is also superb, Kyoto Animation Studio has really done well with it.
I totally agree with you on both of these. you have my respect.
if you get these Funimation, I will love you forever.
I would also be a little glad if you got:
No.6
Shangri-la
SKET Dance
Usagi Drop
Level E
Mistudomoe
Bakuman
Blue Exorcist
Beelzebub
That would be awesome if you got these too.
but Nichijou and Natsume's Book of Friends is pry my top priority.

Aniplex USA is going to be releasing Blue Exorcist (First volume in October).
Media Blasters is going to be releasing Bakuman (Both seasons, first volume in November, Dual Audio).
EDIT:
It may be helpful/informative for people to give this link a look before requesting a licensing. It has all upcoming 2011 releases. This link has all other releases (as far as I'm aware) that do not have a release date, or are planned for 2012.
Re: Shows you'd like to see licensed by FUNimation
Okay, here goes!
1. Gosick
2. Shugo Chara!
3. Black Rock Shooter(OVA)
And I know it was said not to mention those titles that were 'forbidden', but it's contradictory to what was said before about saying what we feel. So...
Why'd they stop Big Windup? Was it really not successful?
Besides, people can change their minds. Who knows? Maybe Funimation will get them
I thought they were getting more Case Closed...?

Japanese DVDs don't work on American DVD players. Well, that is just for DVDs in my knowledge. I don't know if it's the same way with Blu-ray or not...

I got it for $71.71 including S&H on Amazon.co.jp...although that was likely with a better exchange rate. It's actually pretty reasonable, relative to other R2 prices.

Japan and the US share the same Blu-ray region code, Region A. So Japanese BDs will play fine on US players.
Also, the Black Rock Shooter also had English subtitles onthe Japanese BD release. It even had 7 different languages, like French, Spanish, Chinese, etc. There was a region-free DVD released as a promo with some magazines last summer, too, with the same subtitles

It would be wise to check other companies sites as well to make sure you dont request somthing already acquired by another publisher in the U.S.
Also, I see no real need to have restarted this thread, but meh..whatever.
Might as well re-re-re post my wishes. (not that I expect anything to come of it, but meh...I can dream.)
I would ever so love to see Funimation...
