Yeah Sentai flubbed Penquin Drum, the dub is horrid & the subs are just average, sad such a great show got such poor treatment...sigh. *Why couldn't Funi have gotten it! *sobs*
Funny enough my dislike of the dub is the reason I bought it. I really wanted to see the series, and unfortunately TAN is only streaming the dub so I bought the BDs.

I have noticed an abundance of grammar errors in the subs
Alot of my dvd from sentai have spelling erros. and not just 1 or 2. Dozens. Someone is obviously not paying any attention when they are applying thoes subs.
I hate to say it but ATM Sentai to me seems like there pretty much only in it to make a quick buck, I mean they can still do good stuff, and at times they do, but I really don't feel they always put as much effort into their products as Discotek, Funimation, Nisa, Nozomi, Viz, etc. Which is kind of sad in retrospect, cause they have some pretty good titles, but depending on how their dubs of Kids On The Slope & the new Kenshin anime turn out may very well decide if I ever get anything from them again or not. I'm not going to give my money to a company that doesn't even try. At this point I may very well sale back my copy o Penquindrum and just give up on ever owning it. Its a great anime & deserved much better treatment then it got from Sentai.
If you're saying that their own dubs aren't liked that much, how about if they experiment with outsourcing (Ocean and bang Zoom! entertainment). Maybe that will help

Thats not really what i'm saying, what i'm saying is pretty much near any dub they let Steven Foster Direct turns out poorly, they either need to fire him and start using a better Director or get him on his A-Game again somehow.
EDIT: Also Bang Zoom isn't much better, they arn't really the creme de la creme of anime dubbing.
@Batou: I'd rather wait longer for a good dub & subs over getting something out quickly only to have a mediocre product.
Also @All Yes I am in old-fart mode now for some reason.
I guess I'm just lucky that I watch subbed versions.... Although I will give them credit that they do license a lot of titles that the other companies wouldn't, and while it might be a contributing factor in some of the mistakes that occur, they do a good job of getting those titles out to market quickly

All Will Know The Wonder Of My Dark & Jewled Sky, When All The World Is Wrapped In An Eternal Lullabye.
All thanks to Steven Foster, or is it that Houston-done dubs aren't as good as Dallas/Fort Worth-done dubs although both are in the same state (Texas)

I reject your reality and replace it with my own.
