Not that I'm happy that this happens, but from a business perspective I can see why it's done. Of course it's not Sentai but the license holders that make this decision, and when the vast majority of all the profits they make come from the Japanese releases that are much more expensive than R1 ones, it is more economically feasible to them to restrict the license for BD to only have an English track. It all has to do with the closeness of the release to the Japanese release, which still hasn't finished as part 10 comes out August 22. In the grand scheme of things R1 sales are just icing on the cake, and therefore if there is a chance that it will cause a possible negative impact on the revenues from domestic Japanese sales it must be accounted for in the licensing agreement. I could see this eventually happening more often where there are 3 choices, BD wit English subs released at the same time as their Japanese counterparts (such as Kara no Kyoukai and Fate/Zero) at Japanese prices, Bds released in R1 8 months to a year after the original Japanese release like Steins Gate at normal R1 prices, or situations like Persona 4.

They say anything about Persona 4's dub cast again yet?
Last I heard despite the actors not knowing, Sentai still claimed they were going to use the PS2 voice cast with Wittenberg and Rooney as Teddy and Chie.

Sentai hasn't explicitly stated anything directly, but various people from the English cast and crew have confirmed they are working on the project. It will be the same cast as P4A and P4G (different Chie, Teddie from the PS2 game). [source]

That's relative to what I originally said, but thanks.
The last article on ANN claimed they were still gonna use the smae cast as PS2 version, but it was quickly taken out. I'm not complaining however.
Erin Fitzgeralds Chie is fantasticly lovely compared to dry and to old sounding Tracey Rooney's Chie. Sam Regal is just ok, he's fine in cutscenes, but aside from that when he has to get bigger tone with yelling or anything he just sounds off. It was said 4 character would have different voices.
Fuuka (Now Wendee Lee...want to believe this is because Mela Lee is out doing her singing now.)
Chie (Now Erin Fitzgerald. Love her so much more than Rooney)
Teddie (Now Sam Regal...Hit and miss)
One other character is still yet to be revealed, and with almost everyone back and talking in P4A i'm thinking it's Dojima who might be the other, He's the only other liable person who didn't speak in P4A. I would've thought it would've been Grant George's Kurosawa that would get replaced for his small appearance, but was happily wrong.
Yep. I think this just drives in the belief that if something's wrong with anime these days, it's more than likely Aniplex's fault.
Oh, I should also note.... The UK release is still going to be dual audio. At least until further notice.
You WISH you were this awesome.
