I am currently working on Serial Experiments Lain but from the trailers i just watched Ergo Proxy will definitely be the next one i start.
Thanks for the recommendations Renzokuken.
can anyone tell me where to legitimately watch season two of Steins; Gate. I just finished the first 12 episodes and what a cliffhanger...im bummed....Also what other anime(s) would fall into this type of genre ...thanks
Sadly, I don't think part 2 is streaming anywhere. It is one hell of a cliffhanger.
Chaos;Head and Robotics;Notes are by the same creator as Steins;Gate. Personally, I really disliked Chaos;Head, but it's only 12 episodes so it wouldn't hurt to try it at the least. Robotics;Notes is being simulcast this season.

It's a romantic comedy, so yeah. Pretty typical Sudden Magical Girlfriend fare. Great Art Direction, though. Some of Shinbo's early work before he hit it big with Bakemonogatari.

Oh, guess Moon Phase is off the list, then. Or is it? I mean, I can deal with romance as long as it's not heavy put into the plot. Like how people say Spice & Wolf is really about the character driven and about their feelings.
I have been wondering. Is there a real plot behind Mushi-Shi? Or is it just about a guy traveling and finding real life folklores?
And I'm also unsure about Count of Monte Cristo and Kaze No Stigma.
Gankutsuou has one of the strongest narratives in anime, beautiful visuals and decent dub. As well as easily being one of the best Count of Monte Cristo adaptations despite how removed it is from the original novel. I'd count it among the best that anime has to offer. Then again, I'd also put Madoka Magica in that category and you hated that. Sooo... it's hard for me to recommend you things since I can't really pin down your let's say, eccentric, tastes. At least give it a shot.

Gankutusuou: the Count of Monte Cristo is something I'd definitely recommend , the artstyle is really unique and different , it has an interesting revenge plot and Albert the main character blushes alot around the Count (though I'm sure that's just because Albert is supposed to be a really innocent and naiive character ) . The music is really good too and it has some action , emotional moments and a good ending .

Steins; Gate 2nd part is coming out in December, but I would hope either Funimation site has it on stream or their youtube site.

Is Moon Phase romance heavy?
