And yes, one of the latter things i enjoyed about Soul Eater was that despite the characters having opposite sex weapons, their was little romance or lovey dovey in between. It would utterly ruin it to apply such.

Not really. The manga, and anime went along very well without anything really permanent.
The only real focused one was MedusaxStein and that was literally borderline between insanity, and mind control.
The only visible romance in the series is between Maka's parents, and right now that appears to be pretty one sided. There might be some between Kim and Jacqueline too, but they aren't big enough characters to explore that.

Why would I list that if I didn't consider that? In such case that isn't very true by the OVA's Satelight did that they couldn't finish because the manga wasn't finished, but instead picked the highlight points of the manga. Now it is, and it can easily be given a redux.
At the time the original manga ended if it went into the next arc it'd have to cut midway, and go into fillers cause it was so big, and end on an off point. We'd get Kururu, and then the following explanations would've been left in the dark. Air Gear doesn't ride that way, so they pulled it like D.Gray-Man that got to close to its source material.
Dragon Ball Kai (hopefully the Buu saga is animated someday, anyone who thinks Cell is Toriyama's intended ending has no idea what they're talking about.

You're right, he intended to end it after Frieza.
He also intended to it after the Pilaf saga of Dragonball.
The guy changed his mind a lot
