That's some SWEET News i'll be looking out for updates on it
Well %#@&, it's not a new season of Stand Alone Complex. On the other hand, I hope it's a prequel, which I would watch the hell out of that.
Don't forget. Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you.
As long as you remember Her, you are not alone.
Yes yes yes. Hope it's as good as the original as I wasn't as impressed with innocence.

While I like Renzokuken would have preferred more 2nd GiG, any GitS is welcome. Further info on ANN:
"a "Ghost in the Shell Arise Production Presentation" will be streamed live worldwide on February 12 at 9:00 p.m. in Japan (7:00 a.m. EST) on Niconico, Bandai Channel, and YouTube."
apparently it will have more info and clips.
While I am a little hesitant on the switch in staff (Kise as director instead of Kamiyama) but Ubukata could bring something good to the series and Production I.G. is typically great on the sci-fi so that is something to be hopeful for. I know I'm enjoying Psycho Pass thus far. As for hypothesizing about the show itself, the "arise" portion of the title could be telling concerning the series' subject. As it is generally defined as "originate" or become "apparent" it could possibly be about Kusinagi becoming the major, or even in a larger sense the emergence of the ghost during the time of increasing cyberization that preceded the originals. Either way if they go in one of those directions I would find it very interesting.

It's looking like a prequel at the moment.
Hope it gets the same great treatment as the other series (on the dubbing end too).
Also, I wish there would be a reprinting of the 2nd movie, it's so expensive
Currently watching: Berserk, Fairy Tail, Bleach, Naruto Shippuden, One Piece, Ghost in the Shell, Yugioh: Zexal, Yugioh GX, Gun X Sword

They changed the style, not digging it
Hmmm I'm inclined to agree with you on that one. I enjoyed the series very much but I absolutely loved the the first film (ever since seeing it on the in game bill boards in Syndicate Wars... oh those were the days) as It is close to my heart being one of the first anime films I watched as a kid back in 96. Anyway Motoko Kusanagi shouldn't have blue hair in the films in my opinion.
I'll still watch it though.

Give the change in style I wonder if this series will be closer to Shirow Masamune's original Manga, like the cutscenes in the PS1 game.
"In every age, In every place, The deeds of man Remain the same."
That would be interesting. Infact i'd welcome seeing something like that. Sufficed to say though no matter how it turns out, just nice to have some more GITS, its never been my favorite series, but I always found myself watching it whenever it was on. I just hope they can maintain the level of quality past incarnations have had. *Knock on wood*
