Surprising that there's no thread for this well here's one for it now.
For those unaware, there will be another anime adaptation of the Berserk manga and all that is announced so far is that there will be a 3-part movie retelling of the Golden Age arc and like with the new Hunter x Hunter series, there will be a new studio, staff & Japanese voice cast involved but they did bring back music composer Susumu Hirasawa for this which is good even though they also brought in Shiro Sagisu who has composed music for anime like Bleach & the Rebuild Of Evangelion movies.

Like i said on another thread, here's hoping the third film ends this arc better than the TV series did with it's Hentai-like ending.

I saw a little bit about this on the web. Of course I'm not really hold my breath about it actually getting over here to the states. I really enjoyed this series and was disappointed with the ending. So many "uuggghhh....what happened? how?..." I won't go into to details incase somebody hasn't seen the series. Hopefully this does close up that story arc and answer some of the questions left. It was such a great series it deserves a proper ending.
Ah I loved the old series, even the ending just because while it left you with a "wait what?" kind of notion after it was all said and done at least they didn't go filler and because of it I ended up getting heavily into the manga. I'm personally looking forward to the new adaptation, also as for them getting state side if I recall correctly Media Blasters (the company that did the original series) has actually already shown interest in getting the new releases if possible.
Supporting Cast Members Revealed
I've never seen the older series. I'll have to catch up.
"You know what you have to admire? A Catholic hit man who blesses himself just before he strangles someone."
Interesting...Very interesting.
I've never really seen Berserk before. I might give it a try.
I sincerely hope that this series would patch up the horrible "ending" of the first anime, but it does bring up one thing: why wasn't a second season of the first anime ever created!? Well at least now that the anime industry is giving it another go with Berserk, at least it will keep on going, and like FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood, the new Berserk might just end prescicly where the Manga version is going to end. So this first movie is going to end where the first anime ended, but thankfully that's gonna be where the later movies are going to come in. After all, buying all those volumes of the manga is going to take up so much time and money. And these movies will thankfully do a more efficient job of telling the story of the Berserk story.

I also hope that a lot of the music from the first anime gets brought back for the second. The music track titled "Fear" was quite entertaining, "Waiting So Long" was great, and "Forces"? Classic.

And if it doesn't, there had better be a fourth film.
However, I think that the first movie's gonna end where the first anime ended, so with the second and third films coming after it, the movies will keep on going and cover a lot more of the story that the manga has already told.

Even though the original anime series was quite excellent it may surprise some to know that it wasn't the most faithful adaption.
I've just gotten caught up with the manga and there were a lot of important scenes and characters cut out from the anime.
It seems this film saga project will indeed be more faithful since new characters have been revealed in the teaser trailers that weren't in the original anime series.

I guess this just like how it went for the Rebuild of Evangelion Films. Do you suggest that I skip the original EVA TV series and go straight into the Rebuild films?
