I heard Squid Girl is going to be dubbed. Plus 6 episodes for $25? I'm sold even though I don't see why they are making a 12 episode anime into a 2 part release like Bandai does, but oh well its cheap so I'll be buying it.

Media Blasters started using this release strategy last month when they released Queen's Blade season 2 Part 1 with eps 1-6. And they'll continue this release strategy with all their new shows, like Ikki Tousen Great Guardians in August and Squid Girl in September.
The difference is Media Blasters releases have dubs and are cheaper, while Bandai's are more expensive and are sub-only.
Compare it like this...
Bandai:
Tales of the Abyss, Part 1 - 175 minutes - $29.98 - 7/5/11 [Sub-only]
Media Blasters:
Squid Girl, Part 1 - 150 minutes - $24.99 - 9/27/11 [Dub/Sub]
SKL, sensei & now squid girl..huh MB is finally getting anime worth watching again. (seriously for awhile there I thought they were going to become an ecchi only company.)
But yeah, glad to hear Squid will be getting a stateside release.

You forgot to mention that Bandai still releases 1-disc singles and Media Blasters (now) releases 2-disc sets as seen with Queen's Blade 2
I really hope that Media Blasters will do a english language version of Simoun and Strawberry Panic they did do a dub for Loveless and Kashimashi - Girl Meets Girl so I'm hoping that in the future they might do a dub for those two anime series.

They teased last year that there would be a dub for Strawberry Panic and that it would be released later this year so if true then it should be coming sometime this fall.
I'm so grabbing Squid Girl

Hmm I wonder what they mean by not the big title I was talking about?
