Lesser known roles of your favortite Voice artists

Not sure who saw my thread in the video game forum of playing games as payback for discriminatory jerks mocking me and my friends, but I talked to Mike Pollock (who many know as Dr. Eggman in Sonic) at one point and he said it does get annoying getting essentially the same message on a select few characters he voiced which gave me the idea for this thread, why not discuss lesser known roles of great voices for example Vic Mignogna was quite the the delight in Tactics as Lord Sugino and Megumi Hayashibara played the undeniably beautiful (and wild) Canal Volphied in Lost Universe etc.

Zzzzz....... Deficiency of cuteness detected, initiating Kawaii Cannon! There was a hug monster who gave lots of hugs and we all lived happily ever after. THE END

On top of my head:

Johnny Yong Bosch as Sakura Kusakabe from Dokurochan (if I were to ask him what would be his biggest playing against the type in a convention, he'll say this)

I'll edit this post if I can think up of more.

He did a few lines as Eriol Hiragizawa in the 2nd CCS movie that would have been great for a full CCS dub.

I would say Crispin Freeman's role as Kagetsu in Shamanic Princess. I've been attached to his voicework as a lot of his characters, especially Alucard, and he said in his rightstuf.com interview that it was one of his overlooked roles. He didn't do as well with Kagetsu as he did with Alucard, but he was still much better than the rest of the cast, even though he did have his faults. But he was starting out. Either that, or the director had something to do with it. And he was still in Central Park Media while he was with Geneon and Funimation when he voiced Alucard.

Another one of Crispin's lesser known roles is probably more well known: Alex Rowe from Last Exile. He did a great job with him too.

Before Freeza type-casted him into voicing chillingly evil villains, Ryusei Nakao did a great performance as Isami Nishimura from the 80s baseball anime, Touch. He was basically a block-headed rival to the main character in both sports and love (though really only a threat in the former). Nakao did a great job making him both funny and oddly endearing in spite of his jerkishness.

Also, I'd guess that if she's known at all over here, Rica Matsumoto would probably really only be recognizable as Satoshi/Ash of Pokemon fame. But the best role I've personally heard her in was Bakura from Yu-Gi-Oh! I daresay she gives the best performance of the entire cast--with Dark Bakura, it truly sounds like she's trying to channel the Joker.

Another one memorable because it's funny in hindsight, but Minami Takayama (Conan Edogawa) voiced Mukuro from Yu Yu Hakusho. The reason it's funny is because Takayma voiced Envy in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. And who was Mukuro's English voice? Wendy Powell.

Takayama was also the original voice for Mithos from Tales of Symphonia, but it's his English voice actor, Brianne Siddall that I want to put down here. She seems to only do "boys" and "cute." And she does both very well, but Mithos shows how much more range she has, and I wish she had more roles like him.

...And finally, though this one isn't anime (but I've already moved out of that, I'm just moving into English voice acting), Richard Horvitz is mostly known for his "crazy" roles--Daggett, Billy, Rodney, and of course, Invader ZIM! But he's much more down-to-earth as Razputin from Psychonauts, and he really makes him earnest and likable.

I'm going to go with Liam O'brien's role as Frisbee in Redline.

Not that obscure, but I love him in this role just as much as Gaara or Caius.
