Hajime no Ippo, why not license?

Yes, we all know it failed with Geneon but that was then. To me, from what I've seen around the interwebs is the series back upon its release was very unknown and seemed too much of a sports anime for any interest to be shown. Now, here we are and a lot of top lists of anime suggestions and must sees list this anime. It does have fans, a lot of which are devoted and want more.

Geneon is gone and Funimation was/is? (which one) licensing Geneon anime so why not at least push a few s.a.v.e. volumes out? Doesn't need a BD release, doesn't need to be re-dubbed..just making the series available again to fans. It is a bummer that this anime, once treated harshly and now quite praised is left in space to collect dust.

Yes, maybe someone will comment with "there is no market for it" as seen on older posts but look into some top lists and it appears as a must see with quite a lot of attention for it. Exclamation Mark

Only if Funimation sees it as a profit. That might be the cliché answer, but it's true. It would be nice to see them try something like this though, just to see what they make of it.

Big Windup failed big time, so no more sports anime from FUNimation.
