Hey.
Since we are all anime fans, What genres of anime are mostly into? What makes you want to watch the anime you have seen, want to watch, or are watching now?
I'm more into:
Comedy, Science Fiction, School-"ish", Supernatural, Psychological.

I'll pretty much watch anything, at least the first few episodes. The series I tend to enjoy the most are Sci-fi, Action, Fantasy, Giant Robot, and Magical Girl, usually(but not exclusively) of the Seinen variety.
Somewhat ironically, I also tend to enjoy a lot of Shoujo due to it's tendancy to focus more on narrative structure and character development than it's male counterpart.
A well-told story is pretty much necessary regardless of genre, but points for sheer creativity or absurdity are also awarded.
Don't forget. Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you.

Action/adventure, fantasy, historical and steampunk with a side of comedy and slice-of-life.
I have found myself recently enjoying mystery, supernatural, slice-of-life and the slightest bit of romance.

Sci-fi, adventure, anything that falls into the shonen catagory
although there are a few slice of life shows I enjoy
I enjoy watching any anime that has adventure, comedy, drama, fantasy, mystery, supernatural, and action.
I go with Ecchi Comedy, Slice of Life, and any show that was orgianlly a Visual Novel. One of my big peeves is action. The less of it in the series the better. Nothing bores me like the monster or villain of the day fights.

My two favorite genres are science fiction and moe. And my absolute favorite shows tend to combine the two.
Of course, I'm talking about real science fiction. As in, actually considering realistic technological advances or future trends and how it might affect people's lives. Like Planetes, Sound of the Sky, etc...not just fantasy adventure hiding in a lasers-and-warpholes disguise.
My favourite genres to watch are shounen-ai , shoujo , horror and BL undertone anime .
I give pretty much any show that sounds interesting a chance, but my major likes tend to be shonen titles and romantic comedies, usually of the shonen variety. I love me some shojo too though. Slice of life and moe, when done well, can be great as well.
Honestly though, I'm one of the few who's just really not that big on giant robots. There's a few I like (LOVE Gurren Lagann and Dai-Guard is great), but for the most part, it's not my cup of tea for some reason.

My show of choice is Battle Shonen (or shows with similar characteristics) but I can enjoy pretty much anything except Sports or Moe/Slice of Life
