The release date is January 31, 2012. I'm definitely gonna buy this, and now knowing that it's getting dubbed, I'm in a very happy mood. Still, no word on ef-melo's release date though, but I suspect it's coming out soon afterwards, with a dub as well. Hm... wonder what the dub cast is gonna be... It'll be good with whoever they choose I'll bet since I really like Sentai's dubs. I just wish that they would always dub the anime they license.
Oo~! I bet Hilary Haag is gonna voice Mizuki!! She totally would! Then the guy who voices Otonashi in the Angel Beats dub could voice Renji.

I've heard a lot of good things about this series and I hope it sells very well. I'd very much like to encourage Sentai to dub more. Supposedly they've got a policy of always dubbing what will get a Blu-Ray release but I haven't seen any official statement that confirms that.
I'll be getting this one for sure. Especially if Hilary Haag gets a part. I love her voice!

Really? Hope that's true about them! I love Sentai to bits, but if they would just dub more often I would be so much more pleased. I honestly thought that ef wasn't going to get a dub until now, but I was proved wrong. I'm always fearing that if Sentai gets it, it might not have a dub. Wait, is AnoHana on Blu-Ray? 'Cause if Sentai were to get that... I dunno...
Hilary Haag is one of my favorite voice actors out there. Loved her in Clannad and Angel Beats.
PATTY THOMPSON FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sentai never had a press release but David Williams (rep for Sentai at conventions) explained at one of his panels that Sentai will only release a Blu-ray if it includes a dub and they will only dub titles they think can support a dub.
They have no plans for sub-only blu-ray releases (he asked the audience who is interested in a sub-only blu-ray and almost nobody raised their hands).
So basically if you ever see a press release for a show that says "to be released on Blu-ray" it 99.9% confirms it's getting a dub
He also said Sentai has no plans to do DVD/Blu-ray combo packs because:
- Blu-ray is still expensive to print which makes it sound like they print a smaller number until they have to restock
- out of all the titles Sentai has released on both DVD and Blu-ray, DVD always sold more ; the only exception so far is High School of the Dead
Bandai pretty much also confirmed that blu-ray isn't a huge seller for them which is why they passed on releasing series like Eureka 7 on blu-ray
As for what you can do to increase the chances of more dubs from Sentai these are your options:
1. watch the legal streams for new licensed titles at TheAnimeNetwork or other legal sites like Crunchyroll and HULU
e.g. Demon King Daimao was originally going to be sub-only but high streaming numbers convinced them to dub it
2. If enough sub-only copies sell, it might be re-released with a new dub in the future
*This is a rare exception though
Clannad, Legends of the Dark King, Tears to Tiara, Ghost Hound and Blue Drop only got dubs because other markets that licensed the show too (I guess the UK and Australia) actually help fund the cost for the dubs IIRC.
So these sub-only titles then got re-released with a dub.
A recent example is Princess Resurrection, so now that Sentai is a bit richer I guess anything is possible and any title could be re-released with a dub at any time.
(*hopes for a Nyan Koi dub*)

I'm thinking about buying the Blu-ray version since the art is amazing and I also wanted to see it in high definition, but the sad part is I have an SD TV.
I really do hope they go back and dub some of my favorite titles. I really really hope.
I think I'm starting to love Sentai even more now since they dubbed this series.
What I always wonder is if you buy one of their subbed only sets and they go back and dub it can you return the subbed series with some money? Cause I think they did something like that with Clannad. I can't remember.
They did have such a program for Clannad and Clannad After Story. It cost a little bit to upgrade, but for those who wanted it, it was a cheaper option than just buying it again. The cases for the original sub-only release was also better.
Good to see this one is getting a dub, I am sure it will be a great watch. Sentai has been doing a great job at getting some nice titles as of late.
Being wrong is not a democracy!
Unfortunately I don't think you should expect too many upgrade programs in the future.
Clannad was a special case because Sentai knew there was a big demand for a dub so the upgrade program made it worthwhile since many people had purchased the sub-only sets.
Princess Resurrection isn't having an upgrade program so I think it's safe to assume there won't be another upgrade program for any future shows they go back and dub.
I'm guessing these upgrade programs take a lot of time and effort to set up, so if you bought any sub-only DVDs you're probably stuck with them if Sentai does release a new collection with a dub in the future.
If you really like the show then you'll probably double dip eventually.
Some already do this for blu-ray
(Only time I doubled dipped was for the DBZ Dragon Boxes after selling my 9 season sets. I don't plan to double dip for anything ever again)

@ Jackson_H: I think that sub-only to English dub exception is going to become less rare and perhaps we may even see them start doing more hybrid releases the first time out. Just as DVD sales are typically better than Blu-Ray, hybrid releases have consistently sold better than sub-only releases according to every account I've read or heard from company reps.
The only reason the company went sub-only early is it cuts down on initial costs and they were strapped for cash due being ADV after a legal split up and a loss of a years worth of licenses. (And who know's how much money was lost due to that mess!)

@Jackson: Then if I ever love a series so much to buy subbed only and if they go back and dub it then thats what E-Bay is for or I can just give it to a friend for free.....
even though I prefer to get my money back then some.
