Re: Dubs that use honorifics?

The only two shows I've seen with that attribute are Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan and Ouran High School Host Club.

I think it would be better to stick to the original script, just maybe?

Why? The original script is for a japanese audience, not an english speaking one. That's why dub studios adapt it.

Ok, why don't we change the entire script, what about CONVERSTAIONS MENSIONING honorifics? Tell me how the studio would "adapt". Like in bodacious space pirates, one girl keep telling them to STOP using chan, what are they suppose to do for that? Your not making much sense, also I should point this out for future references.

In that case they would simply say to stop referring to them in that way.

And I was referring to the honourifics concerning siblings, which are just plain silly from a western perspective.

I seriously hope you're being facetious. If you're being sincere then it means you're both foolish and conceited

I thought it would be easy to figure out by itself, but apparently not.

I could go further in this little fight but I don't think that would be a logical idea.

Just close the thread, I am not getting anymore worthwhile answers.
