Re: Dubs that use honorifics?

Bamboo Blade has a few, but not nearly as much as Ouran.

Hanaukyo Maid Team uses honourifics.

It's the only anime I've come across that does it. I actually thought it worked quite well, although I definitely don't want it in all dubs.

The only series of Funi that I recently watched that had minor use of honorifics was Samurai 7. But I beleive that was a licence rescure so I don't think they even had anything todo with the dub.
That's always been a FUNi property in North America

Has it. Ah ok then. Its one of the only titles they did that I can recal honorifics used. not that htis issue really matter much since like most htings its just a personal prefrence and arguing/debating it is kinda pointless I feel. you'll either like or wont.

Re: Dubs that use honorifics?

I am watching space pirates and I am extremely surprised what I heard, I have never heard someone say "ONII-sama" in any anime.
Of course I hear sama all the time but I never heard "onii" before. I think Onee-chan/Onii would work a lot better than big sister/brother THAT gets EXTREMLY annoying.

Are ALL 26 episodes dubbed?

Yes Infact I just finished the 2nd set form them the other day. And I agree they should use Oni/onee-sama on certain things. Such as with Index/Railgun with Kuroko calling Mikoto onee-sama over "Sissy". nervous

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyakka_Ry%C5%8Dran_Samurai_GirlsI I believe this was the most annoying, and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maji_de_Watashi_ni_Koi_Shinasai! was a terrible anime, but I suffered through it since I loved the VN so much.Wanko said onee-sama all the time, so I was used to it.

Simply saying their name would be better than both.

I think it would be better to stick to the original script, just maybe?

I actually prefer the use of honorifics too. I think it's interesting and helps stay more true to the characters.

Re: Dubs that use honorifics?

I think that some animes can do it to tolerable degrees. Like Basilisk.
