A lil help please

I was wondering if you could tell me the name of my first love.... when I was about seven my parents got me this used tape from Blockbuster It was an animated film with rockers fighting bad guys in the future to save some princess... I wish I could remember... In my memories it is as bad ass as Akira but I'm sure its not really but it is the same anime style...

you're going to have to delve a bit deeper there mate, any idea how many rockers were in the band? any females? what was the evil abductors like?
Only thoughts that came to mine was Interstella 5555 and Heavy Metal.
