Currently I'm watching, Pyscho Pass, Magi, Zetsuen no Tempest, Bakuman season 3, Robotics;notes, Ixion Saga and Brave 10. Just finished Persona Trinity Soul.
Btw here is my list of anime I've seen that I can remember, still working on completing it.
I'd say it's much closer to Revolutionary Girl Utena.
Yeah, that soon became apparent (even though I've never actually seen Utena and have no plans to).
That would be because they both have the same writer. Personally I enjoyed Star Driver a lot more. Felt the themes were better explored and that the story actually went somewhere. Not hating on utena. Just wasint my thing.
Star Driver however I adore. Have to check out the movie soon.
Onto the actual thread topic.
Going to (after letting it collect dust for about 8 months) finally start Kinos journey. Very excited.
So I've been slowly going through some of my new buys, I generally swap between one anime and one movie, so the breakdown is:
Finished Stein's; Gate a few weeks ago, it was great, loved how it all played out, everything came naturally, but also had a good degree of unpredictability to it.
Hellsing Ultimate - all I can say is I really hope actions are underway right now to get those last two episodes, this was a smashing anime and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Blood - C - another great anime, this one had a very nice build up, dropping delicate hints of what is to come, it appears predictable at times, but it doesn't quite play out the way one would expect, although, some of my suspicions were accurate; more coffee?
Baka and Test Part 2, this was just plain funny, I had a lot of good laughs from this show, very well done.
Dance in the Vampire Bund - I really don't get it, in the world of anime, there seems to be a really good track record for vampire animes - Shiki, Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate, the Blood series, and I'm sure there's more, but it just seems like they have the ability to elaborate, or add to the vampire mythology without tainting it, or, with an anime like Shiki, sticking to the traditional rules works jsut as well. Dance in the Vampire Bund is no exception, that explains why Monica Rial and Alexis Tipton wouldn't shut up about it on a youtube video I saw a while back - they were right, it is a great anime.
Inuasyah the Final Act - stories over, all is done, finally, but I feel these last two boxsets offer a little more than closure for fans, it is just some of the best episodes in this series ever. Inuyasha was my gateway anime, I love the series, however, it does drag and get repetitious, Kagome said it best in the last few episodes: "The whole time you've been fighting against us it's always the same thing over and over again."
However, I always find myself coming back to it to watch random episodes every now and then, it is a fun series. I will also say the comedy is great especially with the chemistry between Jaken and Shippo. Lastly, with the English dub VA changes, while it didn't bother me too much, and everyone did a good job, the voice fo Kagome was considerably different from the original voice, I could see this turning off a few fans, however, the voice of Sesshomaru was a spot on match - many times it didn't occur to me they had a different actor - and I have sensitive ears for such a thing.
I've been watching Haganai - this series is awesome, just funny as hell, the girl farts, the way all the characters interact, there is something very organic about the comedy in this show. A word to Funimation regarding the dub, make sure when the little girl character says "poopy" - which she does a lot in the Japanese dub, or at least in the subs, to get that word in there on the dub - it's so funny, also the growl and vocal tearing that occurs with some of the characters at times - it adds to the hilarity.
I have also finished Chaos;Head - it started with some great potential then seemed to fizze out into obscurity, ambiguity and just a disjointed story and characters, basically after about 8 episodes I just didn't give a crap anymore.
Now in my collection, I have only watched one episode of Black Lagoon and Moribito - which has me hooked, I feel both of these are going to be great, I have four episodes left of Spice & Wolf, there's also Gai Rei Zero, Eden of the East, Rin and Shigurui. I also have the Baka and Test OVA on order along with the Heaven's Lost Property Movie, then there's tons of anime for me to stream.
Yeah, that soon became apparent (even though I've never actually seen Utena and have no plans to).
"Of course you realize, this means war!" -- Bugs Bunny
"Here we gooooo!" -- Mario
Not bad.

For every 60 seconds you spend being angry, you lose a minute of happiness.
Be Warned: I will talk your ear off on any topic Studio Bones related.
