Re: Question, on shakugan no shana Second, and ova's?
Wouldn't we all be pickled off if J.C.Staff decided "Oops! No season 3 after all..." What kind of agonizing torture would that be for all the Shana fans? (Angry, Lethal FanFics here they come.......) Lol
---They'd have to make up for it by creating a LOT of Shana-tan shorts like they did with Haruhi-chan Adventures...
(Side note, does anyone remember the Ah! My Mini Goddess Adventures?)
Re: Question, on shakugan no shana Second, and ova's?
I can't find my post from almost half a year ago or so, but I recall saying it.
I said that FUNimation would do this.
They waited, and waited. Shana season III was released and is being Simulcast.
But, as I said they would.
"FUNimation will not release even so much as a slightest indication that Season 2
is even being worked on, yet alone has a promising pre-release date. If by December
31, 2011 FUNimation doesn't even release a notification that it will progress forward
then it will never happen."
Here it is 2012. Not even ONE mention by FUNimation that Shana will ever be released.
What's more is that they're holding onto Toaru Majutsu no Index as well.
Seems like all the really good anime are being held at bay.
My only question for the Moderators or anyone working for FUNimation,
"Am I correct to assume it won't happen?"
After all if Animax can release it, then what gives? Why not just use the Animax dub already?
Re: Question, on shakugan no shana Second, and ova's?
Even if they would release Shana II, how would they do it? In 2 volumes (1-12,13-24+OVA) or in 1 pack? If they would go with 2 volumes method, than people who don't care about Eng sub or Dub can buy it from Japan. Shana 1 and 2 are actually cheap over there. They are available in 2-2 volumes. Shakugan no Shana II vol 1 (ep 1-12) is $46 and vol 2 (ep 13-24) is $48.
Of course these are DVD prices, but Shakugan no Shana is not a series thats worth buying on Blu-Ray anyway.
But personally I hope that Shana II will get on track for a US release soon. I hope they will include the 4 OVA (Shakugan no Shana S) as a "bonus" for the long wait ^^

I also would like to see them get all the remaining Shakugan no Shana-tan Specials (and dub them with the same cast) as well for the release. However, I'm very concerned whether Funimation would use the same cast (Ocean Studios) because if they just eschew it in favor for an in-house cast, that would drive Shana fans (and me) completely irate and would ruin the Shana series in terms of English dub because the English dub of season 1 was well-done, so there's no need to replace it for an in-house cast.
Re: Question, on shakugan no shana Second, and ova's?
So this is the second season of Shakugan No Shana Box Set (Viridian Collection) correct? If so, any news on if they will keep the same dub actors or go with new ones? Was wondering because some of the older stuff I have (From Geneon and such) I ended up buying again because I thought it was new material. Also, are there plans for a complete second season edition?

I think your over reacting a little too early. I think your judgement on Funi's team should be saved until you can hear the actual dub instead of bashing on them. I have faith that Funi can do a good job with their dub. I haven't really been disappointed with a Funi dub yet.

it's odd you can own the season one box set and now watch season three as it comes out! but many have i bet not seen season 2 or the ova.
just odd, how many have been affected by this.

Funimation is using their own in-house cast for this.
But yes, it is the second season after the one depicted in your link.

Thats good to hear. Thx for the info. I hoope Funi does this to other titles too.
