I considered doing this thread on the old forum but never did because I feared it would be looked upon as 'advertising', all things considered. (It's not advertising. ~Sophie) I'm gonna risk it here though, and hope that it doesn't get seen as such, as I really am just looking for fellow fans on this one.
Anyone else here a fan of the manga-ka, Masakazu Katsura?

He's world-renowned for his beautiful artwork and unique storytelling perspectives. He's done a lot of manga and anime you may have read or seen, such as -
Wingman - Kenta is a young boy who dreams about being a super hero called Wingman. All his classmates love it when he disturbs the courses to apply his holy judgment, as much as the teacher hates that. One day while coming home he finds a beautifull girl in a bikini. Aoi Yume, she gives him a wonderful item, the book of dream which can make anything written on it true, and so began the life of the real super hero for our dear Hirono.
Video Girl Ai - Yota loves Moemi but ends up encouraging Moemi to go for her own secret love, his best friend Takashi. Dejected, Yota happens upon a new video rental store and walks away with what he thinks is an x-rated video. Yota pops the tape into his VCR and out pops Ai, a video girl created to comfort those who are pure of heart and in pain. But the VCR is defective so she ends up a tomboy, flat-chested and foul-mouthed. That is not the only change, as Ai discovers she is falling for Yota. Love makes Ai unique among video girls and the target of her creator. Yet despite everything she keeps trying to comfort Yota by matching him up with the girl of his dreams. But dreams change... and sometimes keep changing. Love can be a terrible ordeal for the pure-hearted when their choices will hurt those they care so much for.
DNA² - Momonari Junta was a mostly average high school boy with a slightly abnormal allergy. To girls. Then enter Aoi Karin, sent from the future to change Junta's DNA. Due to Junta's future prolific ways the world is over populated and it is Aoi's duty to put a stop to it. She manages to cure him of his allergy however when she injects the wrong DNA change...
I"s - Sixteen-year-old Seto Ichitaka is a completely normal Japanese boy who has a crush on Yoshizuki Iori, a girl in his class who has become so popular she now has her own fan club at school. Since the day he first saw Iori-chan, Ichitaka has been too shy to even talk to her, but one day he has the perfect opportunity: he’s selected randomly to work with her on the two-person Freshman Welcoming Ceremony Committee. Just as things are starting to go well, Ichitaka’s childhood “girlfriend,” Itsuki, returns from the U.S., to live in his house, at the worst possible moment. Ichitaka spends the rest of high school dealing with his emotions and trying to get together with Iori-chan, even though he never lets go of the feeling that she’s uninterested in him, despite her kindness and friendliness towards him. In the end he’ll be glad he persevered.
Zetman - Jin, a mysterious kid with a halo carved in his hand, and extraordinary fighting skills, lives with his grandfather in a beggar's community. In other place, the old scientist Amagi is searching for professor Kanzaki, to ask him for the whereabouts of the "player" -a kind of genetic altered humans- Zet, which they created some years ago. Soon, Jin and his grandfather are attacked by a mysterious man who turns into a monster. The connection between professor Amagi and professor Kanzaki, seems to connect also young Jin to the mystery of the "players", and Zet.
In addition, he did designs for the anime classic Iria: Zeiram the Animation, and more recently, Tiger & Bunny.
So if you're a new fan interested by the story concepts I've posted here, or an old fan with a love for his story and art like I do, post here and let's get this discussion going!

Poor Gyt, everyone else but him hates Katsura
Not really, I actually really like Zetman and I's is fun for what it is. Some day I need to get around to reading Shadow Lady, it sounds fun.
Ack, I completely forgot about Shadow Lady, I need to add that into the first post.
I'm sure there must be other fans other than me, they've gotta be here somewhere.

"There are two kinds of folks who sit around thinking about how to kill people. Psychopaths, and mystery writers. I'm the kind that pays better."
I've actually never heard of any of these, but when I find time I'll check some out I've been meaning to watch I''s since you seem to really like it Gyt
Really, none of them? Wow, I had at least heard of most of them, even before I read I's. Each fan grows into it differently I suppose
I can't believe you missed Shadow Lady Gyt, and you call your self a katsura-phile! For shame, no more Zetman for you for at least a month
yea part of it's that I haven't had a lot of time for anime and stuff which is why my post counts are low on both forums, but I'm starting I''s Pure now on Hulu
Well, most of them are fairly old and forgotten nowadays sadly, so I'm not surprised there'd be someone who hasn't heard of them.
If you're into manga as well as anime, kuwabara, I'd highly recommend the manga of any of his stuff over the anime versions, which usually get abridged.
And boo to you too gomu.
I'll fix it in a sec. And no Zetman for a month sounds about like the release schedule anyway...

Now he gets it
I concur with Gyt, read the manga over the anime, 99.99% of the time, the manga is better.
I'd love to read more manga, but moneys a little to tight for me right now and anime I can at least see legally when it's free.
And Gyt don't be too surprised I'm a noob who doesn't know that many titles in anime or manga.
It's fine Kuwabara, we all have to start somewhere. ^_^
Oh, and I highly recommend watching the 6 episode I"s Pure first, it makes much more sense.
And for some reason, it's not letting me alter my first post. It says...someone else did...or...something. Stupid beta.
So here's Shadow Lady - In the gothic Gray City, there lives a 17 years old girl named Aime Komori, very clumsy and shy. But during the night, she uses her magic eyes powder, and she turns into Shadow Lady, an expert thief with great abilities, beautiful and daring. During the night, she must take care of not being captured by the police, especially the Inspector Dori, who always puts an obsessive energy in trying to catch her.
And something else I wanted to add, a count of these works.
Wingman - 13 manga volumes, 47 episode series
Video Girl Ai - 15 manga volumes, 6 episode OVA
DNA² - 5 manga volumes, 12 episode series, 3 episode OVA
I"s - 15 manga volumes, 2 episode OVA (From), 6 episode OVA (Pure)
Shadow Lady - 3 manga volumes
Zetman - 33 manga volumes (ongoing)

I like his designs for Tiger&Bunny. They look really "alive" as far as animated characters go. I am happy that he did the character designs.
