Run-down: The official documents for UGAnime say that our goals are to promote multicultural awareness of Japanese media and culture through the watching and discussion of animated Japanese popular culture. In practical terms, we exist for the purpose of gathering people who share an interest in anime and manga, watching anime together weekly, and generally having a fun time. At one point, we held the title of the largest anime club in the Southeastern United States, and though our membership has dwindled recently, we're still a large student organization that enjoys the finer points of anime.
We regularly attend the large cons in our area, most notably Anime Weekend Atlanta and Momocon, in Atlanta, Georgia; and Animazement in Durham, North Carolina. We're always looking for more members to get together and have a fun time. We're open to everyone, and membership is free. I hope to see even more people in this and the coming semesters. Love and Peace, everyone.
