I hear the movie will have new content from the author for index. I am really happy i will not be a rehash of what has happened in season I and II of Index. I would love to read the light novels but will have to do with what makes it state side since learning Japanese is out for me. I may know a few words here and even enjoy the voice talents but i still need subtitles. I can not wait to see who they use for the English voice cast for this show.
If you really want to give the light novels a go, there are fan translations available from ****. i'm not sure whether or not i would attract trouble to myself for linking to them though, haven't checked the rules properly for the forums here yet. [mod edit: you would, we'd prefer you don't even mention the names of these groups.]
Before anyone tries to jump on me for "Advocating piracy" or anything, i would like to state that i would buy official English versions of the light novels in a heartbeat, were they made available. the same applies to the anime series.
Moving on, I am also quite interested in who will be in the english cast. the japanese cast were for the most part, rather good. hopefully the english cast will be of a consistent quality as well.

why did the streaming stop at eppisode 18? in the schedule says 23-24 comeing up but i only see 18?
Well... The upload has been one week behind schedule because there was a week that the schedule listed four episodes instead of the usual two. So factoring that in, episodes 19-20 should be available for subscribers right now. However, there was a little glitch this past Friday where episodes 19-20 were made available for non-subscribers, and episodes 17-18 were still subscriber only (my guess is whoever at funi that did that was looking at the schedule, rather than the actual list of episodes). Sometime later in the day, episodes 17-18 were made available to non-subscribers and episodes 19-20 were removed (likely as a result of someone rushing to fix the error from earlier in the day). My guess is that the ep 19-20 links will be restored sometime during the next work week. But in the meantime, you may be able to use the actual address for the videos to watch them.
I hope this can do well enough for the second season to get picked up...and there's also a movie coming out next year and rumors of a third season too.
Given that they have now started streaming the episodes, it appears you lost that bet.
