umm how that? thay dont have to get the Ocean Studios guys. just because Ocean did a few voices way back in the day dose not mean Funi needs to get them to dub all the shows

I'm not saying they should dub every single show they have via Ocean Studios. Well, the reason why I'm speculating that Funimation would use Ocean Studios for A Certain Magical Index, A Certain Scientific Railgun, and Hayate the Combat Butler (if they license rescue season 1 from Bandai since their rights have expired and license season 2 & beyond) is because Index and Nagi Sanzenin are featured in one of the Shakugan no Shana-tan specials (Shakugan no Shana-tan Revenge) (in which the Shakugan no Shana series is dubbed by Ocean Studios). To maintain consistency with that special, Funimation would either have to either dub A Certain Magical Index, A Certain Scientific Railgun, and Hayate the Combat Butler via Ocean Studios, or if they decide to dub them in-house, do a extremely complicated procedure that involves dubbing Index and Nagi Sanzenin (if they license rescue season 1 from Bandai since their rights have expired and license season 2 & beyond) in-house and splicing those two tracks with the rest of the English track (dubbed by Ocean).

that be like saying just because 4kids did the first dub for one piece Funid have to track down all the voice actors to dub the rest.

The 4kids dub of One Piece was severely edited and was a horrible dub so there's a reason why Funimation re-dubbed them in-house.

Re: Index and Railgun when?

yes well it cost funi more time in cash to use Ocean Studios i mean thay have a good in-house team so? as for The 4kids dub of One Piece dub some of the VAs were bad yes but a few were vets that did a fine job i mean Marc Diraison as Roronoa Zolo was just fine i still love his voice as Gattsu in berserk so it was not all bad.

Yeah I know that, but it would add some variety to their dubs if they used Ocean Studios as opposed to just get more VAs either fresh from Dallas/Fort Worth or from the Houston Area because some VAs are used so much that attentive viewers of Funimation dubs can easily recognize that person's voice. Not to mention, Ocean did some extremely well dubs, such as Black Lagoon, Death Note and Shana.

Yeah but does everything need to be in-house, even if it involves using VA casts from different areas (like California)?

So you want to hear Brad Swaile in Index & Railgun, which means you want this to be dubbed via Ocean Studios, meaning you're agreeing with me that Index & Railgun should be dubbed by Ocean Studios.

Spoiler: Highlight to view
what did "ps" mean?

Domayv well come on he was so very good as light and hot yell but if Funi useing Ocean Studios means ill have to wait a other 2 years for this then no ty. ill just take it anyway thay will give it. as for Shakugan no Shana it seem wise if thay did use Ocean Studios but unlike VIZ thay have there own voice studio so im sure Funi figs it easyer to just dub the show them self. jeez all this Ocean Studios talk makes me want fall to come fast so i can get inuyasha the final act from VIZ gunna be a good dub:P ps means Post Script meaning after like on the side of me talking

Another 2 years? Come on, when Geneon licensed Shana & Black Lagoon it took them some months to dub them by Ocean so it shouldn't even take too long for Funimation to dub this series by Ocean.

Viz did not license & dub Shana, Geneon did, although Viz did use to license the light novels and manga before they dropped the rights to those, and are you telling me that Funimation should dub Shana seasons 2-3, movie, and OVAs in-house? If they did that, that would ruin this series in terms of English dub because the English dub of season 1 was already good enough so there's no need to dub them in-house.

Re: Index and Railgun when?

Yeah I know Geneon's dead but it would made a LOT more sense if you used Geneon instead of Viz. If you still continue to use Viz in place of Geneon, that would be like saying that Viz originally licensed Trigun although Geneon did.

Well thanks for telling me that Funimation should use Ocean for Shana season 2 & beyond because they should to maintain consistency with season 1's dub.

And because of the fact that Index and Nagi Sanzenin are feature in one of the Shakugan no Shana-tan specials, that makes me think that Funimation should use Ocean for Index, Railgun, and Hayate (if the license rescue season 1 and license season 2 & beyond).

Re: Index and Railgun when?

Domayv yes but do you want to wait for them to license rescue Hayate n such tongue id rather have index to own as fast as i can. Index and Nagi Sanzenin may be in Shakugan no Shana-tan specials but that dose not mean Funi wants to try and track down the VAs just too dub index kitty that take far too long and cost them more Perdition time i mean who knows how well index will sell in the first place?
